Our Mission
The Arise And Shine Foundation is committed to creating environments where we insist on “women’s empowerment” being a verb, and not just a catchphrase or trending topic. We collaborate to advance and elevate the personal and professional development of women and girls. By dismantling self-doubt and changing belief systems around competition, our non profit organization will be a rich resource for information, inspiration, encouragement and education as we prepare and empower young leaders.
Our Programs
Launched in 2024 the Arise And Shine Coding Bootcamp & E.S.T.E.A.M.ED Summit - formerly, The E.S.T.E.A.M. Project is designed around three pillars: upskilling core competencies in technology, fine-tuning soft skills for business success, and facilitating connections for industry mentorships.
In addition to learning to code, The Arise And Shine Coding Bootcamp will further prepare and empower college students to be future leaders through lessons in cultivating wellness, creative thinking, esteem building, and problem-solving. As a charity operated by women, our passion and vision to see more young women in technology, coupled with support from industry leaders makes it possible to launch the Coding Bootcamp.
Who We Are
Founded in 2023 by actress, author, and entrepreneur Malinda Williams, the Arise And Shine Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps fulfill Malinda’s vision to be a conduit of information, inspiration, and empowerment to women in all walks of life. The foundation partners with educational institutions, corporations, and the community to implement and support programs for community advancement.
The work is led by Malinda along with co-founding members and sisters Lisa Sorensen, a communications specialist and wellness advocate, and Leslie Williams-Dunn, retired Senior Director of Technology for Johnson & Johnson. Additionally, a team of highly accomplished, passionate men and women from varying professions are aligned in support of the cause. This dynamic group collaborates to bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and excellence to achieve the goals and mission of the organization.
